K.C's. Auto Tech is a two-year, two-period per day program focusing on safety, brakes, steering suspension, engine performance and electronics. Advanced students are urged to work on their own vehicles. They are also given the opportunity to work on cars belonging to other students and the faculty as if they were running their own independent garage.
As a VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) program sponsor, Mr. Hendrix has had scores of students earn first place awards in the Texas state finals for automotive technology. VICA is open, for a nominal fee of $20.00, to all students enrolled in auto tech. They meet during class periods on as 'as needed' basis. Typical projects are rebuilding starters, alternators, carburetors and even engines. |
