“Works Cited” is an alphabetical listing of reference sources used in a research paper. The first line of each entry should touch the left margin. Each additional line should be indented five spaces with double space between entries. The examples given in the document below follow the format recommended by the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 7th ed., 2009.
NOTE. Changes for 2009: one space after punctuation marks, use of italics instead of underlining, the addition of a medium of publication marker such as “Print,” “Web,” “DVD,” “Television,” or “Radio,” and the inclusion of new abbreviations for web sources such as “N.p.” for no publisher given, “n.d.” for no date, and “n. pag.” or no pagination. |
