The test schedule is listed below for your review:

Monday, June 19   English I    5- hour exam 
Tuesday, June 20  Algebra I  4- hour exam
Tuesday, June 20  US History  4- hour exam
Wednesday, June 21   English II   5- hour exam
Wednesday, June 21    Biology  4- hour exam
Out of District and Out of School Examinees: 

Out-of-district (OOD) and out-of-school (OOS) examinees may now register to take assessments for the March and May 2017 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) end-of-course (EOC) administrations at any participating Texas campus. Refer to the March and May 2017 STAAR EOC OOD and OOS Test Site Directory, available at, for a list of participating campuses.

Examinees must register online at for the March and May 2017 STAAR EOC administrations.

The March 2017 STAAR EOC OOD and OOS registration window closes February 3, 2017. The May 2017 STAAR EOC OOD and OOS registration window closes March 3, 2017. The assessments will be administered as follows:

  • English I – March 28
  • English II – March 30
  • Algebra I – May 1–5
  • Biology – May 1–5
  • U.S. History – May 1–5

Districts testing registered OOD and OOS examinees will receive precoded materials for these testers. Examinees who are not registered online by the deadline may still participate at a selected campus on the day of testing, if the campus can accommodate them, and must be registered by campus personnel on the day of testing.

On the day(s) of testing, examinees should arrive at the test site 30 minutes before the designated testing time. Examinees must present picture identification to test. Examinees will not be able to take the assessment(s) without a picture ID.

State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) End of Course (EOC):
In spring 2012, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). The STAAR program includes annual assessments for grades 3-8 in reading and mathematics; assessments in writing at grades 4 and 7; in science at grades 5 and 8; and in social studies at grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology and US History. Students will receive their results approximately 6-8 weeks after testing.

 Reminder: all cell phones and electronic devices are prohibited during testing. Phones are not to be out even after a student completes his/her exam. Please see the KISD cell phone policy during state assessments.

A student possessing a cell phone or any communication device that has text messaging, email, video or internet capabilities while taking STAAR or any other state assessment must turn off the device before receiving any test materials. The student’s test may not be scored if the student had possession of a test booklet or answer document while the device was visible to the teacher. The device must be confiscated and the offense reported to the campus testing coordinator.
