PSAT Information:

PSAT/NMSQT stands for Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT Test. It also gives students a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) scholarship programs when they take it in their junior year. The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, and writing skills. You have developed these skills over many years, both in and out of school. This test does not require you to recall specific facts from your classes. 10th and 11th grade KHS students take the PSAT test. Pick up the Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT from your guidance office.

On October 10, 2018 the PSAT is offered free of charge to all 9th,10th, and 11th grade KCHS students. High scores on the PSAT will allow juniors to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
